Bengbu is a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province and the first prefecture-level city in Anhui Province (New Year's Day, 1947). There are four municipal districts under the jurisdiction of Laoshan District, Yuhui District, Huaishang District and Longzihu District, and jurisdiction over three counties of Huaiyuan County, Guzhen County and Wuhe County.
During the Republic of China, it was the resident of the Anhui Military Government and the resident of Fengyang County Government. The total area is 5,952 square kilometers. In 2017, the total population was 3.812 million. The territory is connected by mountains and rivers, with four distinct seasons. It has a long history and splendid culture.
Bengbu is located at the Qinling-Huaihe line of the north-south geographical boundary of China, the middle reaches of the Huaihe River, the intersection of the Beijing-Shanghai Railway and the Huainan Railway, and the intersection of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway and the Beijing-Fuzhou high-speed railway. It is a national civilized city, a national regional central city, and a national Comprehensive transportation hub city, central city of Huaihe River Basin, central city of Weibei area, and tourist center city of Anhui Province.
