Maanshan, referred to as “Ma”, is a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province. It is located in the eastern part of Anhui Province and the Susong area. It is the Hefei metropolitan area, the core city of the Nanjing metropolitan area, the member cities of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the cities along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the Lancang River. The city belt undertakes the gateway city of the industrial transfer demonstration zone; it administers 3 districts and 3 counties with a total area of ​​4,049 square kilometers. Maanshan crosses the Yangtze River and borders on Nanjing. In November 2017, Maanshan City was awarded the fifth national civilized city. On April 2, 2018, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission issued a list of support for a new batch of cities to carry out innovative urban construction. 17 cities across the country were selected and Maanshan was among them. In 2017, Maanshan City achieved a regional GDP (GDP) of 173.809 billion yuan.
