The Xiangshan Park

Xiangshan Park is located in the western suburbs of Beijing (No. 40, Buying Street, Haidian District). It is steep and green, covering an area of ​​188 hectares. It is an imperial garden with mountain features. As early as in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, the royal family built a palace in Xiangshan, and the emperor had to hunt for it during the summer and autumn seasons.

Xianfeng ten years (1860) and Guangxu twenty-six years (1900) were burned twice by the British and French Allied Forces and the Eight-Power Allied Forces. In 1956, they opened up as the People's Park. Xiangshan Park has famous tourist attractions such as Xiangshan Temple and Hongguang Temple. Xiangshan Park was rated as a civilized unit in the capital in 1993. In 2001, it was rated as AAAA scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration. In 2002, it was awarded the first batch of Beijing boutique parks.

As of 2010, there are 391 species of plants in Xiangshan Park, of which wild species are mostly distributed and distributed over a large area. The most abundant ones are Huangqi (Xiangshan Hongye) and Arborvitae. Xiangshan is a mountain forest park with natural scenery. The park has a long history. Especially in the buildings and temples, there are a lot of cultivated plants, such as ginkgo and pine nuts. The planting time is long and the number of ancient trees is numerous.

Since April of each year from 2003 to May, Xiangshan Park will hold a mountain flower exhibition (also known as: Shanhua Jiahui Watching Festival, Mountain Flower Watching Season). The first exhibition of flowers is mainly flower buds, and it uses 70,000 pots of flowers and plants such as Xiaoju and more than 20 varieties.

Since 1989, Xiangshan Park has held the Hongye Culture Festival with the theme of red leaves for more than 20 years. The red leaves of the exhibition mainly include Wujiao Maple, Triangle Maple, Chicken Maple, Persimmon Tree, etc. The largest area of ​​the red leaf tree is Astragalus, with nearly 100,000 plants.
