Wangfujing Pedestrian Street is a famous commercial district with a long history of hundreds of years. It enjoys the reputation of Jinjie in Beijing, with a passenger flow of about 600,000 people/day and more than 1.2 million people on holidays.

Wangfujing street is one of Beijing's most famous shopping streets.Much of the road is a pedestrian area with several shops, malls and shopping complexes. The most recent addition to Wangfujing road is the Oriental Plaza shopping mall.

It is located on the north side of East Chang'an Avenue in the city center and has a long history. It was first formed in the Yuan Dynasty and has been around for more than 700 years. The earliest commercial activities took place on this street in the middle of the Ming Dynasty.

In the Qing Dynasty, there were eight palaces and princess palaces on the street, and later a sweet water well for the palace to drink. This street was originally called Wangfujing. In the 29th year of Guangxu, the Dong'an market was formed, and Wangfujing began to develop into a commercial street, becoming one of the four major business districts in Beijing.

In 1955, Beijing Department Store was completed in Wangfujing Street. New China Women's and Children's Products Store, Beijing Arts and Crafts Service Department and Wangfujing Xinhua Bookstore opened in Wangfujing Street and the Dong'an Market was renovated.

After the reform and opening up, under the unified planning and coordination of the municipal government, the Wangfujing commercial district was planned to carry out large-scale construction and renovation. Wangfujing Street became a commercial street that can display the image of the capital.

Wangfujing Commercial Street has a large number of large shopping malls from south to north. In turn, there are Dongfang Xintiandi in the southeast of Wangfujing Commercial Street, Wangfujing Department Store in the southwest, and New Dong'an Market in the northeast, forming the Wangfujing Commercial Pedestrian Street.
