Monument to the people's Liberation

Monument to the people's Liberation, also known as "the victory of the Anti-Japanese War Jigong monument", "People's Liberation Monument", referred to as "liberation monument." Located in the center of Jiefangbei Commercial Pedestrian Street in Yuzhong District, Chongqing, it is a spiritual symbol of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War. It is the only monument in China that commemorates the victory of the Chinese nation in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

The Monument to the people's Liberation and the People's Liberation Monument were started on October 31, 1946, and completed in August 1947. On October 1, 1950, Liu Bocheng, then chairman of the Southwest Military and Political Committee, wrote the inscription for the "People's Liberation Monument." In September 2000, the People's Government of Chongqing Municipality announced the first batch of municipal-level cultural relics protection units after the direct administration;  In May 2013, it was listed by the State Council as “the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units”; September 2016 , was selected as the "first batch of China's 20th century architectural heritage" directory.

The front of the monument faces north to the east and is a reinforced concrete structure with a octagonal column head. The height of the monument is 27.5 meters and the side length is 2.55 meters. The monument has eight floors underground and has a spiral staircase at the top of the monument. The four sides of the mouth are equipped with self-timer bells, and the surrounding of the tablet is a flowerbed with a total area of ​​62 square meters and a protection area of ​​642 square meters. It is a symbol of the victory of the Chinese people in the anti-fascist war and a symbol of Chongqing's liberation and Chongqing.

In 1947, when the completion of the anti-war victory Jigong monument, the cost of the current currency of 217 million, all poured with reinforced concrete. The monument is 24 meters high and 4 meters in diameter. It is an eight-sided tower-shaped building with a monumental platform, a tablet, a monument and a lookout. The platform is 20 meters in diameter and 1.6 meters high. The steps have flower beds. The monument is composed of 8 bluestone pillars, with 8 stone monuments on it, and the gorge produced by Beibei.

The interior of the Monument to the people's Liberation and People's Liberation Monument is round, with 140 steps of the cantilevered ladder, rising straight to the top observatory. Set up a victory corridor in the anti-war along the spiral ladder. The observatory has a diameter of 4.5 meters and can accommodate 20 people on the tour. The top of the station is equipped with wind direction meter, anemometer, north arrow and other weathering instruments, and a top hanging alarm clock for the city's assembly and alarm. The top of the monument is surrounded by eight mercury sun lights.

Under the People's Liberation Monument of the Anti-Japanese War and the Monument to the People's Liberation, there are monuments and stone celebrities donated by various provinces and cities. The scrolls given to Chongqing by President Roosevelt in 1943 are also engraved on the walls of the Victory Hall. The Anti-Japanese War Jigong Monument and the People's Liberation Monument to the south of the first layer of flower beds, a 138.5 cm long and 93.5 cm wide "The Jiefangbei Center Shopping Plaza Inscription", for the Chongqing Yuzhong District People's Government on December 27, 1997 The Jiefangbei Center Shopping Plaza was officially opened on the day of its official opening. The monument is black marble, script, and inscription, a total of 408 words.
