Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located at Dongfeng Middle Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. It was built by the people of Guangzhou and overseas Chinese to commemorate Mr. Sun Yat-sen.
The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall was started in January 1929 and was completed in November 1931. In 1956, the re-cast bronze statue of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, 5 meters high, stands in front of the memorial hall. In 1963, the memorial hall was extensively renovated. The roof was entirely made of blue glazed tiles. An iron fence was built around the park of more than 60,000 square meters. Many trees and flowers were planted in the park.
Guangzhou Zhongshan Memorial Hall is an octagonal building with a solemn and grand appearance and a strong national character. The designer skillfully applied the structural principle of building mechanics, using a steel frame and reinforced concrete hybrid structure, and there is no column in the building space spanning 71 meters.
Guangzhou Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is a key cultural relics protection unit in Guangdong Province and a national monument. It is a monumental building funded by the people of Guangzhou and overseas Chinese to commemorate the great pioneer of the democratic revolution, Mr. Sun Yat-sen. It was designed by the famous architect Lu Yanzhi of China. It is a national AAAA tourist attraction.
The internal structure of the memorial hall is extremely strong, all made up of steel frame and reinforced concrete. The space in the lobby is extremely large. There are 4729 seats on the upper and lower floors in front of the stage, and there is no column in the middle. There are eight hidden between the walls. The pillar support is a masterpiece of architectural art.
The memorial hall is light and transparent, decorated with beautiful colors, magnificent, and has 11 doorways for easy access. The stage is wide and can be used for large conferences and art performances. There are wide stone steps on the three sides of the hall. There is a white granite platform in front of the main stone steps. The base is lined with bronze statues of Sun Yat-sen, and flowers are planted on both sides.

The park is free to open, and it will enter the main building and exhibition hall for 10 yuan/person in the peak season and 8 yuan/person in the off-season. Retired cadres and active military personnel can enter the park free of charge with children under 1.1 meters with valid documents.
