Zhujiajiao Town, which belongs to Qingpu District of Shanghai, is located in the west of Shanghai and the south-central part of Qingpu District, close to Dianshan Lake Scenic Area. To the east is the boundary between Xidaying and Huancheng. Xiqiao Dianshan Lake and Daguanyuan Scenic Area are across the lake, south is adjacent to Shenxiang Town (merged in 2001), and bordered by Dianshanhu Town of Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province in the north.
Zhujiajiao Town is located between 30°~31° north latitude and 120°~121° east longitude. It is 6 kilometers away from Qingpu Town in the east and 48 kilometers away from the center of Shanghai. The 318 National Road runs through the town. The total area of the town is 138 square kilometers (water area). In 2013, the gross national product was 6.34 billion yuan.
In 1991, it was listed as one of the four historical and cultural towns in Shanghai. In 2007, it was awarded the third batch of “Chinese historical and cultural towns (villages)”. On October 14, 2016, Zhujiajiao Town, Qingpu District, Shanghai was awarded the first batch of towns with Chinese characteristics by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. On May 24, 2018, Zhujiajiao Town was selected as one of the top 50 most beautiful small towns.
Zhujiajiao Town is located in the Qingpu area, which belongs to the alluvial plain of the Yangtze River. The terrain is flat and the average altitude is between 2.8m and 3.5m. The temperature in Zhujiajiao is roughly the same as that in Shanghai. It belongs to the north subtropical monsoon climate zone and is a typical maritime climate. The four seasons are distinct, the rain is abundant, the frost-free period is long, the sunshine is sufficient, the average temperature is 15.5 degrees Celsius, the annual frost-free period is about 235 days, the annual sunshine is about 137 days, and the annual precipitation is about 1100 mm.
Zhujiajiao Town is rich in tourism resources. The Shanghai Water Sports Stadium on the shore of Dianshan Lake is an activity center with international modern water facilities. The Oriental Green Boat is a camp for overseas youth activities in Shanghai; Shanghai Sun Island International Club and Shanghai International Golf and Country Club are for business and vacation. Leisure and entertainment as one of the entertainment and tourism bases; Guzhen District has developed and opened more than 20 attractions such as the School of Plantation and the Daqing Post Office.
